Dear Seneca Families, Community Members, and Friends,
Welcome to Seneca Elementary School, home of the Shining Stars! As always it's a pleasure to inform you about our school's latest news. I'm excited to share the growth in the areas of pupil achievement, pupil engagement, and school climate at our school. It’s my hope to make my fifth year as principal of Seneca Elementary School and even brighter one with the support of students, parents, staff and all community stakeholders.
We will continue to focus on fostering a nurturing safe environment for children, use of data to inform instruction, consistent implementation of newly adopted English Language Arts curriculum tools to increase students’ achievement, and providing exciting and challenging after school enrichment opportunities for all students. We will also provide parents with opportunities to further their own education by providing after school parenting classes.
Parent participation is a vital part of our school program. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA), the School Site Council (SSC), the English Learner Advisory Council (ELAC), the African-American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC) and classroom parent volunteers are important aspects of our school. I invite you to participate in one or more of these committees this coming school year and support our students’ education.
Seneca Elementary staff will also continue our focus on improving the overall school attendance. Excellent attendance ensures student academic success. Students in grades Kindergarten through fifth will attend school from 7:45 AM – 2:05 PM, and Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten students attend school from 7:45 AM – 1:50 PM. Every minute is important in your student’s education.
I anticipate a most successful year as we all support the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students here at Seneca Elementary School.
During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students of Seneca Elementary the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be world class citizens ready to master the challenges of the 21st Century with a solid foundation created here at our school. As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in, or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!
